Plum jam recipe

Plum jam recipe

Ingredients:

1 kg of plums (preferably choose ripe and sweet varieties)
500-700 g of sugar (the amount can be adjusted depending on the sweetness of the plums)
1 lemon (juice and zest)

Instructions:

Preparation of drains:

Wash the plums, remove the bones. This can be done by cutting the plum in half and removing the bone, or using a special device for removing the bones.

Making jam:

Put the plums in a saucepan and sprinkle with sugar. Mix and leave for a few hours or overnight, so that the plums give off the juice and soak in sugar.
Gradually heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Add lemon juice and zest.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a minimum and cook for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. The jam should become thick and acquire a rich color.
We check the readiness of the jam by dripping a little on a cold plate. If the mass freezes, the jam is ready.

Packaging in cans:

Sterilize jars and lids.
Fill the jars with hot jam, leaving a small gap on top.
We close the jars with lids and wrap them so that they gradually cool down.

Keeping:

After complete cooling, the jam is ready for use.
Store in a cool and dark place.

This jam is perfect for breakfasts, desserts, adding to pastries or using as a filling. Enjoy your meal!
